Career

In 2014 Josh Scott followed Gippsland Power coach Nick Stevens when he took up appointment as Glenelg coach.

A power forward with Gippsland Power in the Under 18 TAC Cup competition Scott was a joint winner of the 2013 Morrish Medal (Best and Fairest Award), Under 18 TAC Cup leading goalkicker award and earned a spot in the TAC Cup Team of the Year. Surprisingly overlooked in the 2013 AFL draft, Scott saw Glenelg as providing a good showcase to pursue his AFL dream.

His breakout season for Glenelg came in 2016, winning both the club best and fairest and leading goalkicker. The lightly framed but fearless forward earned State selection in 2018, playing in the losing side against WAFL in Adelaide.

In 2019 Scott battled injury, having broken his hand in Round 3 and further injured it later in the season. He made it back into the side just in time for the finals. Scott found form in the winning Grand Final, making a 3-way threat with Liam McBean and Luke Reynolds and kicking 3 goals.

Citing employment and injury concerns, Scott retired from League football after the Grand Final, playing in the Riverland for Jervois from 2020.
