Michael Murphy was a strong key position player from Renmark who played in the Bays 1985 premiership victory over North Adelaide.

He was drafted by VFL club North Melbourne and played three games in 1988. He returned to Glenelg, and then was added to the inaugural Crows list in 1991. Injuries and suspensions limited him to 16 games with Adelaide and he then moved to Brisbane where he played 10 games in 1993, before a run of hamstring, shoulder and then knee injuries ended his playing career.
