A skilled District cricketer who played for the Glenelg "seahorses", Simon Angove found the balancing of football and cricket with their modern time demands a tricky journey.  In the end he only managed 31 games over 6 seasons for the Bays.

Simon is from a talented sporting family:

* Father - David - coached amateur football and played B Grade cricket and served the Glenelg District Cricket Club for 25 years as well as owning racehorses for many years;

* Mother - Marg - a netball legend in SA, taking Adelaide Thunderbirds to 2 national titles, she also established Contax as the State League powerhouse, earning 5 titles and a Super League Championship;
