John Boyle, a tall centre half-forward from Peterborough, joined the Bays in 1935.
Boyle won the Mail Medal for the fairest and most brilliant player in the North-Eastern Association in 1934.
He was a good high mark and an exceptionally long kick.
He also played for the Glenelg district cricket team.
