Was apparently paid $2000 to appear for Glenelg in the 1969 grand final, his only appearance for the club. His selection for this game was controversial and only possible because Hart was based in Adelaide whilst serving his national service with the Royal Australian Artillery. He was concussed in the early stages of the grand final but recovered and was amongst the best players in the loss to Sturt.
