Career

Ray Cock commenced his time at Senior level for Glenelg at centre for the combined West-Glenelg side in 1944. Later he played at half forward and centre for Glenelg, amassing 49 goals over 65 games.

Although he was Captain/Coach of the Association (Reserves) side 1949 to 1951, in 1950 he was asked to train on with the League team when his Association side finished their season. He played in the 2nd Semi Final, injuring his ankle, then accompanied his Association side on the end of year trip to Broken Hill. He consequently missed the Preliminary Final due to lack of treatment of the injury. He was named an emergency for the Grand Final in 1950.

He was also a leading tennis singles player representing the State.
