Chris Veide, a 196cm ruckman from Port Noarlunga, played 11 games and kicked 7 goals in his debut season for the Tigers. He made the interchange bench for the losing 1981 grand final.

Another 11 League games in the next two seasons was all that Veide racked up at Brighton Road, however in 1982 he played in the winning Reserves premiership side.

He was "recruited" by Carlton who nominated Veide at Pick 24 in the 1981 VFL National Draft. He was the Blues second and final pick of that draft. Veide never played for the Blues, remaining in Adelaide with Glenelg.


Veide was named as Centre Half Back in the Port Noarlunga Team of the Century (Ryan Fitzgerald was CHF)
