1977 NFL Ardath Cup

When the VFL chose to run a rival competition in 1977 (the Amco-Herald Cup), the NFL invited the VFA to participate in the VFL's place.
The names of the Cup contested changed with the sponsorship arrangements each season - 1977 was named for a brand of cigarettes made by W.D. & H.O.Wills cigarette makers.
As a higher-rated club, Glenelg bypassed the first round of matches, proceeding straight to the second round.
