Reg Masters played football with Encounter Bays in 1940, being a member of the premiership side
and winning the Mail and Ozone Medals.
From 1941 to 1947 Masters played 66 games for Glenelg, captaining the side in 1947 in a league football career that was interrupted by World War 2.
He returned to the Bays in 1948, but badly injured a knee.
In 1955 he became Captain Coach of the then Bay Valley Rovers, and later went on to coach Port Elliot to a premiership.
In addition, he played cricket for Encounter Bay before and after World War 2, until 1955 and was a former president as well as life member of the Great Southern Cricket Association.
He served for 28 years with the Highways Department, retiring in 1983 as supervisor- in charge of Victor Harbor maintenance area.
