A high-flying forward fond of the spectacular mark, Lachie Hosie was atop the 2019 SANFL goal-kicking after 8 Rounds when drafted mid-season to the AFL.

Career

Lachlan (Lachie) Hosie made his League debut for the Tigers in Round 7 of 2016, but really sprang to life in 2018-19 with his eye-catching play around the goals.

He was SANFL’s leading goalkicker in 2019, booting 21 from eight matches while also winning the Round 7 nomination for Mark of the Year. He looked on track to feature prominently in what became a premiership season for Glenelg.

He was recruited by the North Melbourne Football Club with the 5th draft pick in the 2019 AFL Midseason Rookie Draft. He was not selected to play AFL for the remainder of the season, but in a vote of confidence he was given a further one year contract. Although he managed good form with North's Reserves side in 2019, he struggled in his 5 AFL games in 2020.

Hosie was delisted by North Melbourne at the end of the 2020 AFL season after a mass delisting by North Melbourne which saw 11 players cut from the team's list. At the end of 2020 he announced he would be returning to Glenelg.
