Differentiation

The convention used is to list by surname, but use the first and last names to identify the person (and hence the name of their article/page). Only where two people have the same first and last name would we use their middle initial/name.

Where it is otherwise impossible to separate two people - eg "John Bullock" we can use whatever seems the most appropriate way to identify which person is intended. In the case of the Bullocks we use the year(s) in which they played for the Club.

If there is a question about how to differentiate two people then put details in the Discussion page.

Note: some Player first names are not know (eg R Alcock). Any help with this would be appreciated.

Surname x 2 is a replication of all the names in the old format. Can whoever has the abilty click on the page tab and delete this page !! I have all the names in the new format now so no need for a double up (this was a back up in case I stuffed it up)

That's what the History function is for dirko - you can put everything back if it mucks up. I think Ecky is the only guy (other than nai) who can delete. It wont hurt in the short term to stay here. 00:19, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
