Coach's Comment

We were beaten by a Sturt team who was more committed to a four quarter effort than we were. Sturt beat us at our own game. They were stronger around stoppages and in the contested ball situation. We did not hold our tackles and by comparison with the opposition, our ball handling was very fumbly. Glenelg Football Club's senior players and coaches are fully aware that to play winning football in the SANFL competition we need 21 fully switched on, fully focused players who are ready to play the game down to the wire. That was not the case against Surt. All indicators suggest that they were better prepared for the size of the task. Now we need a response against the competition title holders, Central District at Gliderol Stadium on Sunday. Thanks to all who were at Unley supporting the Glenelg teams on Saturday. It will be great to see you all out in force this Sunday.
