Coach's Comments

Starting the season with a strong performance against Norwood at Gliderol Stadium was pleasing. The playing group acknowledges that for them to perform at optimal level they need an even contribution from every player. Particularly pleasing was the consistent display of leadership which paved the way to winning every quarter. The players' level of consitency in relation to adherence to structures, style of play, commitment to the contest and discipline was particularly evident. The performance was thorough in most aspects of the game but we will be very keen to identify areas for improvement in preparation for a much improved West Adelaide at their home ground on Saturday.

Congratulations to Andrew Bradley, Alex Grima and Kane Tenace for solid performances in their debut games for Glenelg. It was great to have Sam Rudolph and Matthew Bode back making a big impact on the game.

Well done to Kris Massie for winning on his debut as a coach at under 18 level. Congratulations Jack Horan also on winning on debut as our reserves coach.

The reserves hit back strongly after quarter time for a well executed win displaying good ball movement and discipline.

Glenelg's senior and reserves players wore black arm bands on Saturday as a mark of respect for the sad passing of Julie, loving wife of Glenelg Football Club's Chef, Trevor Hancock. Trevor is an integral part of our club, more than just a great chef, Trevor has developed a wonderful rapport with the players and everyone who works at the club. Our thoughts are with Trev.
