Leo Torpy was a sturdily built forward/rover recruited from Broken Hill in 1924. Described in The News as "lack(ing) only one thing, and that is height. .. strongly built. Given a chance (he) should develop into a goood rover".. Leo was tricky and with a good kick.
He played in Glenelg's first ever League win in Round 1 1925.
His brother, Norman Torpy also played for Glenelg.
