Eugene Clifford Howard Warrior was selected by the Adelaide Crows from the Port Adelaide Magpies in the 1993 national draft but was de-listed at the end of 1994 without playing a senior game for the Crows.
Warrior played league football for the Port Adelaide Magpies from 1995 to 1998, but failed to secure a regular spot in the seniors, playing just 10 games in four seasons. He starred in Port's 1997 Reserves Grand Final against the Redlegs, kicking four goals in the last quarter and getting the Magpies over the line by one point. Norwood then had talks with Warrior in the off-season, but the decision was made not to pursue a transfer.
He joined Norwood for the 1999 season however, after a short stint with the Willaston Football Club (Barossa Light and Gawler Football Association) in 1998.
The explosive midfielder/half forward played his first game for the Redlegs in the opening round of the season against North Adelaide and made another 15 appearances during the year. Warrior was in excellent form late in the season and almost won the Grand Final off his own boot against his old club, kicking 4.2 in Norwood's eight point loss to Port Adelaide.
Evasive, with flair and clean skills, he was capable of being a match-winner on his day.
Unfortunately, he only played one game in 2000 before transferring to Glenelg where he played three games. Warrior returned to Port Adelaide for the 2001-2002 seasons.
He later played for Salisbury North in the South Australian Amateur Football League and coached them to a Division 1 Grand Final in 2013.
The following year he was appointed coach of the Port Adelaide Power Aboriginal AFL Academy
