More Power(s) to us
So The Advertiser report on Round 1, 1940 said:
"Two former North players Phillis and Power played good games."
The Power being referred to here seems most likely to be Arnold Gordon Power who also played at North in 1938 and 1939. The North Adelaide FC site listing noted his preferred name as Gordon, which ties in with the listing we have a for a Glenelg player Gordon A Power (ie this record in the wiki). There are no other players named Power shown on the North site who played in the relevant period.
Pride of the Bay (POTB) lists only two players called Power to play for Glenelg.
- This record is listed in POTB as playing only in 1935.
- The other record in POTB is "H. Power" showing only 3 games in 1940.
Until such time as we query with Peter Cornwall (POTB) I am assuming that they are one and the same person and somehow "G" has become "H" in transcribing records.
