This entry has been started as John L. McCarthy.
Contemporary news reports talk of J.A. McCarthy running second in the Bay Sheffield in 1935 and that he, like the winner, was a Glenelg league footballer.
I am assuming that John A. and John L. are one and the same. I haven't renamed the page as I don't know where the L came from?
