Eric Russell Fuss was a wingman recruited from North Adelaide. He played in Glenelg's first ever winning game in 1925.

With North he won a premiership in 1920, but by far the more novel finals campaign occurred the year before. In 1919 North won the 2nd semi final over Sturt on 30/8/1919. They played West Torrens in the grand final 13/9/1919 and drew the match. A rematch was played the following week and this time North won. But the Challenge system allowed Sturt to challenge the winner on the grounds that they had finished the Minor Rounds at the top of the table. The Challenge final between North and Sturt was held on 27/9/1919 and once again North drew. The rematch was held 8/10/1919 and on this occasion Sturt won.

Fuss is also noteworthy for winning the Bay Sheffield footrace in 1920.
