JAMES Sellar was the hero of the Bay last night after kicking Glenelg's match-winning goal seconds before the final siren to down Sturt by six points.

Scores were level when the Crows-listed ruckman marked a long kick inside 50 and kicked truly to seal the Tigers' fifth straight win.

It was a good effort by the boys and I was in the right spot at the right time, Sellar said.

I probably owed them (teammates) one after giving away that 25m penalty in the third quarter, so that was definitely crossing my mind.

I was just thinking how many times I'd done it (set shot) before and it was no different. Go back and hope to score.

Glenelg led by 31 points mid-way through the third term before Sturt staged a courageous fightback and drew level in the last.

The game could have gone either way in a frantic final five minutes when Sellar stood tall.

We were really pleased with that win because they've beaten us the last two times, Tigers coach Mark Mickan said.

Skipper Ben Mules was outstanding, Kane Tenace and Luke Panozzo got plenty of the footy and Ruory Kirkby continued his brilliant season with four goals and a game-high seven marks.

For the Double Blues, ruckman Jonathan Giles was enormous in his 50th game, finishing with 31 hit-outs, 16 possessions and posed a threat with four goals when he went forward.

Former Tiger John Hinge impressed in his first game against his old side, and kicked a goal in front of the Snouts Louts to open the game, Josh Cubillo won plenty of hard footy and Luke Crane provided run.

Sturt coach Luke Norman said there were positives to take out of his team's fightback, but they still missed the two points and remain seventh on the ladder.

I thought our support around the stoppages wasn't fantastic in the first half, Norman said.

After half time we started playing the way we wanted to, taking the game on a bit and the last quarter was really pleasing.

We take a lot of positives out of this game and I think we have turned the corner now.

(But) we're just under more pressure now because we didn't win.
